Congregational Conversation Regarding the Black Lives Matter Sign

The Black Lives Banner moved! Why did it move? What precipitated this? What questions does this bring up for you?

You may remember that our Board had planned to hold a congregational conversation about the BLM banner last year, but then the conversation was postponed and never rescheduled. So it is time to talk! We each hold pieces of our story as a congregation, just as we all have our own beliefs. Join us for a conversation that we hope deepens our collective understanding by weaving together our stories and beliefs. That’s the only agenda – no decisions to be made nor resolutions to pass. Just a time to listen, reflect, and share from the heart.

After assembling in a conversation circle, where Rev. Jolie will guide us as we explore what transpired last year, we will divide into smaller break out groups, providing opportunity for deep and honest conversation. We hope you can be part of this conversation. Bring your curiosity, questions, and yes, heartfelt opinions. The more diverse our shared stories, the more complete our collective understanding!

Nourishing nibbles will be provided during Coffee/Tea hour — we invite you to bring finger food so we can snack and start on time. No one wants any one to feel “hangry”!

Childcare will also be available for those who need it.
